Human Resources Assistant

Provide assistance to managers, supervisors, employees, and higher-grade specialist in human resources functions, i.e. seasonal employment programs to include on-boarding and personnel action processing. Works directly with the Human Resources Specialists to expedite personnel actions requiring special handing to include appointments, extensions, terminations, awards, determining Service Comp Dates (SCD), leave categories, within-grade-increases, etc. Provides a variety of computerized queries and reports using automated software systems such as USA Staffing, Federal Personnel Payroll System (FPPS), Electronic Official Personnel Folders (e-OPF), and excel spreadsheets. Performs research and completes corrective actions using the Guide to Personnel Processing. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-09/27/2020-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either full-time (or 40 hours a week) or part-time with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience. For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected. Qualifications:
Experience:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as:
office automation software processing procedures to execute basic office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents or files, inserting and deleting text, printing, retrieving data from specified electronic records, and transmitting and receiving electronic mail. You must include hours per week worked. -OR- EDUCATION:
Successful completion of at least four years of education above high school (120 semester hour or 180 quarter hours) leading to a bachelor's degree in any field for which is above high school graduation or the equivalent. You must include transcripts. -OR- Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take two full academic years of study, or 60 semester hours, beyond the second year is equivalent to 1 year of specialized experience. Then take the number of months of full time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
