As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for a Surgical Research Technician to join our team in Flagstaff, AZ.

If you are searching for a company where you can make a difference, we're looking for you. In this role, you will work as part of a fast-paced preclinical research and development team to evaluate new medical devices in a surgical/interventional research setting.
The ideal candidate will:
Be passionate about providing surgical and preclinical support services for research and development of state-of-the art implantable medical devices
Be energized by working for a world-class medical products manufacturer and collaborating on teams
Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships
Responsibilities include:
Working with veterinarians, study directors, scientists and physicians in developing and conducting pre-clinical studies
Collecting, recording, and organizing data
Using standard operating-room medical equipment such as anesthesia machines, defibrillators, etc.
Training on standard operating procedures
Participating in a rotating, call-in schedule, including night and weekend coverage
Participating in hazardous materials training
Using appropriate protection when using hazardous materials or equipment
Monitoring and managing anesthesia in a variety of laboratory animal species
Preparing and recovering animals from surgery
Monitoring the status of the animals throughout the course of a study
Performing routine daily maintenance and care of medical equipment
Responsibilities may also include assisting in surgical and endovascular procedures
Required Job
Qualifications:
Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT or equivalent) degree, certified cardiovascular sonographer, or Bachelor's degree in a bioscience, OR 4 years hands-on animal experience in veterinary preclinical research or veterinary clinical practice
At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary, lab animal, or human clinical setting
Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Excellent documentation/recordkeeping skills
Self-motivated
Demonstrated compassion for animal care
Emotional capacity and sensitivity to support associates who work in this research environment on a daily basis
Ability to:
Work independently as well as in a team environment
Write and follow standard operating procedures/regulations
Lift approximately 60 lbs
Work safely with/around hazardous materials and radiation

Qualifications:
Knowledge of the operation of angiography, ultrasound, IVUS, and/or CT equipment
Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
