Overview:
The Trauma Registrar 1 and 2 maintains the Trauma Registry and is responsible for ensuring NAH remains compliant with all data standards as they relate to the American College of Surgeons (ACS), The National Trauma Database (NTDB) and the State of Arizona.
S/he participates in research and/or statistical activities for the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Program Director or Medical Director.
Responsibilities:
Data Integrity Demonstrates knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding system.
Demonstrates knowledge and utilization of medical terminology.
Independently researches and solves complex coding (ICD-9& 10 CM, E-Codes, CPT) and (AIS 2005) problems.
Serves as an expert resource to staff regarding abstracting, coding, departmental procedures and Trauma One Software updates, report writing generating and interpretation.
Administrative Ensures accuracy of auditing, medical coding, trauma registry, insurance and billing.
Collects and submits trauma registry data for trauma patients.
Demonstrates the ability to create forms, reports, graphs and tables.
Performs office tasks associated with day to day operations of Trauma Services.
Compliance/Safety Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
Qualifications:

Certified Trauma Registrar (CSTR) by the American Trauma Society- PreferredCompletion of Course in Injury Severity Index Scoring/AIS- Required within 6 months of hireCompleted course-work in Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology- RequiredTrauma Registrar 2:

Minimum 2 years healthcare experience- RequiredHealthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care.
Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department.
Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
