The Charge Entry Billing Specialist is responsible for the input and billing of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10 CM in the practice management billing system.
Responsibilities:
Billing Processes and enters all charges.
Assists in capturing and recoding accurate charge data.
Assists with answering patient inquiries and resolution of accounts which may include accepting payments and posting payments to accounts when needed.
Claims Management Screen claims for errors, research missing or incorrect data, follow up and coordination with clinics and billing staff to ensure claims are processed accurately and timely.
Compliance/Safety Responsible for reporting any safety related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
Maintains confidentiality of all department, patient, and billing matters.
Completes all company mandatory modules and required job specific training in the specified time frame.
Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employees area of responsibility.
Meets industry standard measures of productivity and accuracy.
Qualifications:
Education High School Diploma or GED- Required Certification & Licensures N/A Experience Minimum 1 year customer service experience- Preferred Minimum 2 years experience in a medical business office setting or hospital- Preferred Experience working in a multi-hospital and employed physician practice environment- Preferred Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care.
Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department.
Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.
